About the event

For our next event 50% of all funds raised will be donated to Medical Aid for Palestines. We are hosting this event in collaboration with the amazing Highland Palestine.

We hope if you do not know about Highland Palestine that you can learn more below & get involved with their campaigning.

*Highland - Palestine is a network of people in the Scottish Highlands who support the Palestinian struggle for equal rights.* They have been organising solidarity events across the Highlands for the past decade, including a regular film festival, speaker events, exhibitions, street stalls and wider campaigns, such as successfully lobbying the Highland Council to divest from the US arms company General Dynamics who manufacture and supply bombs used against the people of Gaza.

Since 7th October 2023, they have been holding weekly protests and vigils outside Inverness Town House to stand with the people of Gaza, with multiple local politicians speaking in solidarity, and have supported a range of other events across the Highlands and & Islands. Their weekly newsletter includes updates on the situation in Palestine, copies of speeches given at recent protests and news about forthcoming events and campaigns.

Please get involved with them by signing up to theirmailing list at highland.palestine@gmail.com, following them on social media @Highland_palestine, and coming along to their weekly protests every Saturday 12pm at the Inverness Town House.

*Funds will be raised specifically for Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP), a charity that has been tirelessly working for the past 30 years to uphold the rights to health and dignity for Palestinian communities.* MAP has been a beacon of hope, providing locally-led healthcare services to those living under occupation and as refugees. Currently, their emergency appeal is crucial for distributing vital medical supplies to the remaining hospitals in Gaza.

As of mid February, in its fifth consecutive month of aerial bombardment, 27,500 Gazans are known to have been killed (according to the Gazan Health Ministry), with an estimated 70% of those being women and children. It is said that 1 in every 100 Gazans has been killed since 7th October 2023, on average 250 people a day, the highest daily death toll of any conflict in the 21st century so far. 26 out of Gaza’s 36 hospitals have been damaged from aerial bombardment since October 2023.

Please do what you can to support our fellow citizens in Palestine in whatever way you can.
